Australian vintage pram display - 25th Nov - 10th Dec 2017
It has finally happened! After nearly 30 years of collecting, cleaning, rescuing, restoring and re-homing all kinds of prams and strollers, there has finally been a chance for a real-life display of some of our own once locally made iconic brands and also other classic imported prams.
First of all a big thank you to the management and committee of the Mont De Lancey Historical Homestead in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. Without their generous invitation, this display would not have seen the light of day.
Mont De Lancey really is that hidden "gem" that people rave about! A truly beautiful place to visit showcasing the rich local history of the area, and features amazing museum, tearooms, historic buildings, blacksmith, vintage machinery and other attractions. It's all linked together with beautiful gardens, paths and outdoor areas.
The pram display was included as a part of their annual ' Draughthorse and yesteryear festival' which was a two day event held on the property on the 25 & 26th November.
Australian made vintage prams included: Steelcraft (largest display), Cyclops, London, and Barnes Baby Carriages.
Overseas classics from: Silver Cross, Swallow, Marmet, Emmaljunga and a couple of very rare German prams from Gesslein.
There was also a display of vintage child car seats and safety items from the 60's to the 80's, and lots of memorabilia, brochures, scans and other pictures to see.
The prams and Strollers are still in place right now and can be viewed until Sunday 10th December 2017!!
